Summer is a happy and carefree time. Vacations, the sea, the sun and long walks in green parks are typical seasonal activities that the townspeople love so much. However, the hot season has its pitfalls. Summer lulls vigilance, while our skin especially needs protection and care.

Moderate sunbathing is essential for healthy skin, but ultraviolet rays are insidious and not always beneficial. They provoke burns and accelerate skin aging.

Homemade natural masks will help you take care of your face in the summer. We share the most effective and interesting recipes. Take note!

Toning

The sun’s rays are both good and stressful for the human body, and a tan is a protective reaction to aggressive external influences. To soothe the skin after sun exposure and restore its tone, try homemade masks.

  • Mint perfectly tones the skin. Pour 2 tablespoons of mint leaves with one cup of boiling water. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Then strain the broth and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of honey. Stir well. Blot gauze or cotton pads in the broth and put on the skin for 20-25 minutes. Remove and wipe your face with a soft, damp towel.

Chop the berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries) into a puree and put 5 tablespoons in a bowl. Mix with 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply the gruel on your face, leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Cleansing

In summer, the sweat glands work even more actively, providing our body with a comfortable temperature. As a result, the pores on the face become more clogged. To gently cleanse the skin of the face, apply a mask made of natural ingredients to the skin.

  • A mask based on cucumber, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar perfectly cleanses the pores. Mix 2 tablespoons of crushed cucumber with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Apply the mask on your face for 10 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.

  Humidification

Solar radiation is one of the main factors causing its dehydration (in summer, heat and air conditioners are also added to it: in air-conditioned rooms, the skin loses moisture reserves two to three times faster).

  • The simplest mask for moisturizing the skin of the face consists of only one ingredient — olive oil. Heat the olive oil in a water bath to a comfortable temperature and apply it to the skin with gentle massaging movements. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes, and then rinse with warm water. Instead of olive oil, you can use grape seed oil – it will moisturize the skin and enrich it with useful ingredients.
  • To prepare a “delicious” moisturizing face mask, you will need a banana, olive oil and honey. Chop half a banana into a pulp with a fork. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of liquid honey. Apply the mask on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Ready!

To make skin hydration as effective as possible in summer, you additionally need to consume enough water.

Exfoliation

If you treat the skin with a scrub before tanning, then it will lie down much more evenly.

  • Prepare the body scrub yourself. Mix the grated zest of one orange, 2 tablespoons of coarse sea salt, 2 tablespoons of oat flakes and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Treat the skin and then rinse off the scrub with warm water.

For a good and safe tan, also use a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) appropriate to your skin type before going out in the sun.

Summer is not a reason to give up self—care. Make homemade masks regularly to maintain the beauty and tone of your skin. Shine and catch admiring glances!
