Defumoxane is a product to reduce nicotine cravings in smoking cessation. It alleviates the unpleasant withdrawal symptoms that occur when nicotine is discontinued.

What is Defumoxane and what is it used for?

Smoking cessation and reduction of nicotine craving in smokers willing to quit. The goal of treatment with Defumoxan is to permanently end the use of products containing nicotine.

Taking Defumoxan allows a gradual reduction in nicotine dependence by reducing withdrawal symptoms associated with stopping smoking (such as depressed mood, irritability, anger, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, increased appetite, insomnia and restlessness).

Defumoxan is intended for adults.

How is Defumoxan taken?

Always take this medicine exactly according to the information on the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

One package of Defumoxan (100 tablets) is enough for the entire treatment course. The duration of treatment is 25 days. Defumoxan is taken by mouth with a sufficient amount of water and according to the following treatment schedule.

Smoking should be stopped by the 5th day of treatment at the latest. It is not possible to continue smoking during treatment, as it may worsen side effects. If the treatment is unsuccessful, it must be stopped and the treatment can be started again in 2 to 3 months.

If you take more Defumoxan than you should

With an overdose of Defumoxan, symptoms of nicotine poisoning are observed. Overdose symptoms include malaise, nausea, vomiting, increased heart rate, blood pressure fluctuations, breathing problems, blurred vision, convulsions. If you experience only one of the listed symptoms or if you have a symptom that is not listed here, stop taking Defumoxan and contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take Defumoxan

Do not double the next dose to make up for a missed dose.
